About The Art.

Welcome to a space that celebrates people in all their diversity.

My artwork combines a variety of mediums such as oil paint, watercolor, metal foils, fabrics, and acrylic. Each piece combines traditional portraiture or poetic calligraphy with colorful symbols and graphics, aiming to amplify & compliment the beauty of each person in them.

My creation process can vary from being purely playful, experimental, expressionist, and aesthetic — to a more in-depth storytelling process that includes in-depth research into the subject’s history and culture, which is then reflected in the colors, patterns, poems, expressions, and symbols that are depicted.

As a Syrian artist, I aim to center the beauty of the Global South and BIPOC communities as my main art subjects. I also believe that art is a language that can drive genuine impact, whether it’s used as a tool in theraputic practice, story-telling, or for community building. As such, a portion of the proceeds from specified sales on this site will go to select grassroots organizations directly serving Global South or BIPOC communities, supporting collective, community-driven change. Information about the specific organizations can be found in the artwork’s description, and proof of donation can be made available upon request.

“It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.”
